There are moments when all neurons die down and much as we want to orchestrate something, to provide opinion about something, to think about something or to simply do something (with our minds), we can’t.
We are at a lost what to do, what to say, what to think. We scream internally at the seemingly lack of activity. No neural pathways being created. Nothing.
I know now what drives Sherlock Holmes mad. I now know what leads him to inject cocaine and any other stimulant up his nerves. This inactivity is draining me. It is driving me mad. It is making me lose all sensibilities. All practical sensibilities.
In the recent town hall meeting, the country manager said, THIS is not our life. THIS SHOULDN’T be our life. I do my best to have a life apart from this. But I guess if one is just starting, the totally new environment of this industry takes some getting used to.
If four hours sleep at night is enough to get me going through the day, four hours sleep in daytime will leave me groggy throughout the night – not to mention that I’ll be experiencing dizzy spells and all that. Somehow, being a night owl – for months on end – really zaps out the life in you.
The life I want is pretty simple. Read books. Write articles. Watch movies. And if asked if I get to do any of them, I must say, that it is only the second item that I really get to do. And that is I get to do it rather sparingly or I have to fight limb and foot to get any writing done.
Sometimes, I whine that I do not really get to write as much as I want; that there are a thousand ideas in my head which I don’t get to write about. Good thing I discovered that there is indeed a way for me to redeem the avail time at work to get some writing done. Maybe later, I will be able to discover a way to get some reading done. And at least, I would be living my life.
**Note: This was written during avail time. Haha! I rejoice at having discovered how I can generate articles after articles for my blog.
I think we have similar dreams in life… hay!
I want to read books when I want to, and write… maybe do some of my amateurish crafts but all at my own pace.

Anyway, I’m just a reader passing through, and I have a few suggestions:
Cerebral Insights is good blog title BTW. I noticed that the subtitle of your site says “Take a peek at the hum of my mind”. I know it’s a bit nitpicky, but I think the word “peek” doesn’t match with “hum”. After all, how can you “peek” at a “hum”? (maybe replace “peek” with something auditory in nature?) 🙂
Your blog addresses some serious social issues well, and I like how you include news clippings to strengthen your points. A lot of your blog entries tend to be on the serious side, so you would want people to take you seriously. So I suggest you get rid of the alternating capital letters (otherwise known as “sticky caps” in the internet community). To be honest, I rEaLlY wOuLdN’t TaKe SoMeOnE tOo sEriOuSLy iF thEy TyPE LiKe ThIS. I don’t mean to be rude, I’m just being honest. I really want your blog to take off, so all I’m trying to is help. 🙂
These are just suggestions, you can ignore them if you want. I mean, who in their right mind would listen to someone who prefers to stay anonymous, right? Anyway, these are just ideas. I’ve been a blogger before, so I know a little about blogging. I hope you don’t take my comments the wrong way. Again, I’m just trying to help.

Now that you’ve pointed it out, I guess the subtitle does seem a bit at odds with each other. Originally, I just went by the sound of it without thought as to the real meaning. I guess, I’ll try to think of a more apt, though still catchy, subtitle.
As to the sticky caps, again, I went by the aesthetic appeal of it. I had no idea that it would be a mark for someone not to take the blog seriously. I guess, I’ll stick to the regular caps and all, though I admit I am struggling with the aesthetic appeal of it.
And once more, I do appreciate the comment. Critics after all are invented to improve what is already existing. And so, thank you. If my blog does take off, and if ever I make money out of it, I would have you to thank for. 🙂
