How do you become a writer? Simple. Keep writing. Write every day.

Whatever topic; whatever style; just keep writing.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t even have to be optimized. The purpose is to get in the habit of writing. Writers write. First and foremost.

Of course, in our modern day, writers do more than write. They research. They learn. They optimize. They analyze data.

A writer’s role has expanded. That is if you want to own and run your own business – and earn millions along the way.

How to Become a Profitable Writer

So I guess the question really is, how do I become a profitable writer?

In an age where it’s so easy to write just about anything – and call yourself a writer – how do you actually earn?

Is there even hope of becoming a profitable writer? Or, are writers simply doomed to live impoverished lives? That is, unless they have the connections to be published OR they learn marketing and selling.

The good news is, it’s really easy to become a high-paying writer.

In fact, pursuing a career in writing can be rewarding – monetary and otherwise.

You don’t even have to be a New York times best selling author to be a profitable writer. You don’t even have to write like Shakespeare!

You can be your usual self, write in conversational tones and make tons of money writing.

Make Millions Writing

But what if I’m not after a job.

The pandemic taught us several important lessons. One of them is to NEVER rely on a single source of income. Particularly if it’s your job.

So what if, you’re not interested in pursuing a writing job, but want a writing business instead?

What are your chances?

Well, I only see two paths:

  • Become a freelance writer and move on to build a freelancing business
  • Become a self-published author and go on to sell courses and other online products

Let me know in the comments if you think of more.

You see writing can make you a millionaire – perhaps even a billionaire.

But it takes more than just writing skills.

If you are persistent enough to learn the ropes, then marketing, selling & business strategy are good places to begin.

But one thing has to remain: YOU MUST WRITE.

You see writing can make you a millionaire – perhaps even a billionaire.
But it takes more than just writing skills.

Writing as a Habit

Writers need to have the habit of writing.

And this is exactly where I am headed. I have embraced my passion for writing. And the paths I’ve taken since now all led me to amass real life experience that I can use to fuel my writing.

But sometimes, I feel too distracted to actually write. I’m more concerned about the strategy, the publication, the marketing, the SEO, and all other aspects that will bring my writing prowess to the world.

And as a result I neglect the core act of writing.

And so I’ve taken a commitment. I will build the habit of writing.

And this blog will be a testament to that. I daresay, I will publish 1 blog post per day.

Writers need to develop the habit of writing.

My commitment: publish 1 blog post daily.

Blogging as a Process

I’ve always loved blogging – as you can see in the archives. But life has its way of taking the things you love.

But now I am back. And though I’ve toyed with the idea of making this an affiliate site forcing me to write affiliate worthy articles, I’ve decided to stick to the core of this blog – a collection of my thoughts.

Yes there will be ads. I want to make a living from this blog.

But expect, dear reader, that it will still remain true to its main purpose “To give you glimpse of my mind”.
