A Move to Agri

Spread the love

I never imagined in my 28 years that I will be excited over agriculture. I know we always had the land – lots of it actually – but it was so shrouded with family politics that I lost the taste to develop it. I know that farming has been a way of life since I was a kid but I have been exposed to its many uncertainties that these risks have turned me off from pursuing it as a profitable career.

Now, many years older and wiser, I have seen the opportunity. Why look far and wide when the opportunity is staring me in the face.

The lessons I’ve learned working with semi-start up companies – learning hands on about management and strategy – now all boils down to how I will handle the family politics surrounding our lands. The path is clear as to how I will run and manage the farm. My vision has radically shifted to how I can make it big. I have seen how I can grow things and how greatness can come from developing these lands.

Perhaps even the political ambition will stem from what I do here.

One thing is for sure. God does map out the course of my life for me. Many times I do not know how things will fall into place; how puzzles will fit together. But now I can see that they can – and if I allow it – they will.

It won’t be easy. It’s a step into the unknown. But it’s a step I am willing to take. And in fact I am excited to go to.

The farm. I can feel it. That’s where I am called to be.
